Efectto Quartz Medium Grain is a ready-to-use, single-component microcement paste, formulated for application as a finishing layer on floors and walls. Its medium grain size (0.25 mm) allows for a perfect balance between texture and smoothness to the touch, making it ideal for continuous decorative finishes indoors and outdoors.
Thanks to its excellent workability, it easily adapts to different substrates, providing mechanical resistance and durability. It is part of the Efectto Quartz decorative system, a continuous, jointless coating with a modern and natural aesthetic.

Time between coats
-
Substrate preparation
- The substrate must be clean, dry, free of dust, grease, or loose particles.
- Apply the appropriate primer depending on the type of surface (absorbent or non-absorbent).
-
Product application
- Stir the contents of the container until a homogeneous paste is obtained.
- Apply 2 coats of Efectto Quartz Medium Grain with a flexible metal trowel, allowing a drying time of at least 4 hours between coats.
- Sand with 100–120 grit paper between coats to improve adhesion and smoothness of the finish.
-
Final protection
- Once dry, it must be protected with polyurethane varnish (such as Topsealer WT One Coat), in 2 coats, to ensure impermeability and resistance.
Yield
Approximately 0.50 kg/m² (for two coats).

Frequently asked questions about Efectto
What is Efectto?
It is a range of ready-to-use paste microcements for creating continuous, joint-free coatings on floors and walls. No mixing with water or resin is needed, which saves time and avoids dosing errors.
What is the difference between Efectto Quartz and Efectto PU?
Efectto Quartz is applied directly as it comes out of the container. Efectto PU is two-component: the microcement (component A) is mixed with Efectto PU B Component, a polyurethane hardener that improves hardness, waterproofing and wear resistance.
Which grain size should I choose?
It depends on the texture you want: coarse grain (Big Grain) gives a highly textured, rustic or industrial-style finish; medium (Medium Grain) balances texture and smoothness; and fine (Small Grain) gives a smooth, uniform finish, ideal as a top coat.
Can it be applied outdoors?
Yes, the Efectto range is designed for horizontal and vertical surfaces, both indoors and outdoors.
How is it applied and what do I need to prepare beforehand?
The substrate must be firm, clean and dry, and primed with Primacem ABS (absorbent) or Primacem Plus (non-absorbent). Then the product is homogenised and 1 or 2 coats are applied with a trowel, sanding between coats depending on the desired finish.
Does it need to be sealed when finished?
Yes, the system is finished with two coats of polyurethane varnish: Topsealer WT One Coat on Efectto Quartz and Topsealer WT All in One on Efectto PU, which provide water and wear resistance.
What is the coverage of Efectto Quartz Medium Grain?
Approximately 0.225 kg/m² per coat; 2 coats are recommended. Actual consumption depends on the substrate and application. Use the calculator above to work out how much you need.
Which sizes is Efectto Quartz Medium Grain sold in?
In 1.7 kg · 6 kg · 17 kg, from €31,22.
Where can I find the technical data sheet for Efectto Quartz Medium Grain?
