Sttandard Microbase® XL is a two-component preparation microcement, formulated by Topciment® as a structural base for decorative microcement systems. Its XL granulometry makes it especially suitable for substrates that require prior leveling, providing perfect anchorage for finishing layers such as Sttandard Microdeck or Microfino. It is mixed with ACRICEM® resin as component B.
Ideal for indoor and outdoor application on horizontal and vertical surfaces, it guarantees a firm, durable and perfectly adhered base.

Substrate preparation:
- Clean the surface of dust, grease or poorly adhered residues.
- Ensure it is completely dry and level.

Mixing:
- Mix 10 kg of Sttandard Microbase XL with approx. 2.5 L of ACRICEM resin.
- First add the pigment to the resin and then the powder component.
- Mix with an electric mixer for at least 4 minutes until a uniform paste is obtained.

Application:
- Apply two coats with a metal trowel over the appropriate primer.
- Allow to dry between coats and sand if desired to smooth the surface.
- Continue with the decorative system by applying Sttandard Microdeck or Microfino and protect with Topsealer.

Frequently asked questions about Sttandard
What is the Sttandard system and which product do I need?
Sttandard is a two-component microcement for thin continuous coatings (1–3 mm). It is organised into a base coat (Sttandard Microbase, to level the substrate) and a finishing coat: Microfino for interior walls, Microdeck for interior floors and Microstone for exteriors.
What is Sttandard microcement mixed with?
All Sttandard products are component A (powder) and are mixed with Acricem resin as component B. First dissolve the pigment in the resin, then add the powder and mix at low speed for at least 4 minutes until you get a homogeneous paste.
What surfaces can I apply it on?
It bonds to concrete, mortar, ceramic, plaster and plasterboard, among other substrates, on floors, walls, stairs, ceilings and even furniture. The substrate must be clean, dry, stable and well levelled, always respecting expansion joints.
Can it be used outdoors?
Yes. Microbase is suitable for indoors and outdoors, and for the outdoor finish there is Sttandard Microstone (L or XL), with a natural non-slip texture designed for terraces, porches, patios and façades. Microfino and Microdeck are for indoor use.
How is the complete system applied?
Prepare the substrate (with Builtex mesh or Primacem primer if needed) and apply two coats of Microbase with a trowel, sanding between coats. Then apply two coats of the chosen finish (Microfino, Microdeck or Microstone) and sand lightly between coats if you want a finer finish.
Does it need sealing and what finishes can I achieve?
Yes, once dry it is protected with Topsealer varnish; the data sheet recommends two coats of Presealer followed by two coats of Topsealer, suggesting Topsealer WT Dragon. Depending on the sealer, the finish can be matt, satin or gloss.
