Frequently asked questions about Arcocem

What is Arcocem and what is the difference between Basic, Fast and Powder?
Arcocem is Topciment's pigment range. Arcocem Basic is a water-based liquid pigment for colouring microcement; Arcocem® Fast is a powder pigment in water-soluble bags for through-colouring concrete and mortars; and Arcocem® Powder is a mineral powder pigment in sacks for mortars, concrete and microcements.
Which products is Arcocem Basic compatible with?
Arcocem Basic is designed to colour Topciment microcements such as Sttandard, Evoluttion, Efectto Quartz or Natture, both one-component and two-component, and blends easily with resins such as Acricem. It is dosed following the Arcocem Mix system formulas.
How do I add Arcocem Basic to the microcement?
Shake the container well, add the indicated amount to the liquid component or resin (for example Acricem) and mix for 1-2 minutes with a mixer at low speed. Then add this coloured liquid to the microcement powder and apply as usual.
How do I use Arcocem® Fast in concrete?
Drop the water-soluble bags directly into the concrete or mortar mix at the start of mixing (reference: 2 bags per m³) and mix for at least 10 minutes at about 130 revolutions until the colour is uniform. The bag dissolves, so you don't have to handle the pigment.
Can I use Arcocem in printed concrete and outdoors?
Yes. Arcocem® Fast is recommended for printed, architectural and precast concrete, and is ideal outdoors thanks to its high resistance to sunlight and alkalinity. Arcocem® Powder is also suitable for indoor and outdoor use on floors, terrazzo and printed concrete.
Does the pigment affect the strength or setting of the mortar?
No. Arcocem® Fast pigments do not impair final strengths or change consistency or hardening, and Arcocem® Powder does not alter the mechanical properties of the cementitious substrate. In addition, all Arcocem pigments resist UV rays and cement alkalinity.
Where can I find the technical data sheet for Arcocem Basic Orange?
You can download the technical data sheet (PDF) with all the application details.
